Finish
Vida Cork™ comes pre-finished with a natural wax-based finish that doesn't look or feel like plastic. Its satin sheen is perfect for flooring. The wax-base allows it to remain soft, so it won't crack or peel like other hard surface coatings, and allows it to be spot repaired. Cork is a sustainable building product because it doesn't require the killing of trees to make cork products. Cork comes from the bark of a cork oak tree, which is stripped off, leaving the rest of the tree intact. Not to mention that it is naturally warm, beautiful, and soft.
Harvesting is the ultimate in sustainable production, having survived and thrived over many generations in Portugal, Spain, and nearby Mediterranean countries. Because the market for cork provides an incentive to keep forest cover on arid land, the industry helps keep 5.5 million acres from turning into desert.
